Introducing Psy~diversity

A term that needs to replace the ubiquitous 'neurodiversity’, which was ironically coined by a Sociologist.

In brief

Psy-diversity says...
Our mental states are products of society and it’s historical context.

Neuro-diversity says ...
Differences in mental states are result of differences in brain wiring.

Psy-diversity is a novel movement that recognises that differences in mental state is not simply a product of wiring within the brain ie. Neuroscience, but rather a product of society and it’s historical context.

Psy-x places the primary locus of influence at the external world, which modulates our internal realm (thoughts, emotions & behaviours) while neuro-x posits the primary locus within our hardware - the brain. [ x= -ology, -diversity, -sciences]

The bottom line

Now each new movement is dogmatic in it's message and the truth is likely a balance between the two.

But it is important to be aware of psy-diversity, the Science for which comes from Psychiatry/psychology/psychoanalysis, as currently I believe our society is too neuro-charged and deeply less psy-tisfied.
